With a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master Degree in Clinical Social Work—Mental Health Concentration—from San Diego State University, Kim has provided assessment and treatment for multiple and often co-occurring mental health conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Eating Disorders, and Substance Abuse, since 1998.
Prior to launching her private practice in March of 2007, Kim was honored to hold a six-year clinical position with UCSD-Outpatient Psychiatric Services (OPS) located in Hillcrest. At UCSD-OPS, she treated numerous patients from culturally diverse backgrounds, trained and supervised interns from our local graduate-level programs, and was affectionately titled “the Queen of DBT”.
While skilled in a number of treatment approaches, Kim tailors her interventions to the client and their condition. She frequently works with people who are dealing with major life transitions, life/career dissatisfaction, relationship problems, and people who suffer from depression, anxiety, and trauma histories.
